What customers say?

“ A Hidden Gem That Deserves the Spotlight!!! I came across this small bubble tea shop about a week ago, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Tucked away in a modest little food court, it’s one of those places you’d easily miss but trust me, you shouldn’t. This is an absolute hidden gem that deserves far more recognition than it gets. I had wandered into the food court during my work break, casually glancing over the menus of various stalls. Nothing really jumped out at me…Until I passed this seemingly quiet bubble tea shop. Despite not being a huge bubble tea fanatic like some people I know, something about this place pulled me in. I can’t explain it; maybe the simplicity, maybe the setup, or just a gut feeling but I turned around and decided to give it a shot. And I’m so glad I did. From the first interaction, I was greeted by a young woman behind the counter who was all smiles and genuinely welcoming — a small detail, but one that instantly puts you in a better mood. As I browsed their menu, one item caught my eye: Flaming Whale Tea. I had never heard of anything like it before, and the name alone intrigued me enough to give it a try. After placing my order, the server swiftly and skillfully got to work. It was clear she knew her way around the drink station. Midway through making my tea, a second staff member suddenly popped up from behind the front counter, which gave me a bit of a funny jump! I hadn’t even noticed her before but her playful energy and quick-witted comment sparked a short, light-hearted conversation that made the whole experience feel warm and personable. Now let’s talk about the star of the show; the Flaming Whale Tea. Wow. Just wow. The first sip instantly hit with a perfectly balanced combination of sweet, creamy, and smoky notes. It was unlike any bubble tea I’d ever had. The tea itself was velvety and rich, almost like a roasted milk tea with subtle caramelised undertones, but not too heavy, it was refreshing and soothing at the same time. Then came the “flame” a gentle toasted sugar flavour that gave the drink a slight campfire warmth without being overpowering. It added such a unique twist that I found myself savouring every sip. The boba pearls? Absolute perfection. Soft, chewy, and perfectly sweetened, they absorbed just enough of the tea to add a burst of flavor with every bite. And with the sun beaming down outside, that cold, indulgent drink became the best part of my entire break. It honestly felt like a reward I didn’t know I needed. Everything from the welcoming staff to the flavour explosion in my cup was just top-notch!! For a small, low-key bubble tea stall, they deliver huge in quality and customer experience. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and skip the generic chains. Come find this place, support it, and try something new especially the Flaming Whale Tea if you want something bold, memorable, and deeply satisfying. This place may be small, but the impact it leaves is anything but!! Can’t wait to come back again! ”

“ My favourite milk tea place by far and I’ve tried so many - chains and smaller local businesses. The bakery is amazing and they use really nice tapioca pearls ! The selection is great and no two teas taste the same! ”

“ Last Sunday at around 2:40pm I stumbled across whale tea in Stratford, I didn’t know they had one at this location since I’ve always been to the one in Greenwich. Exceptional top notch customer service, from the both of the lads. One worker that really stood out to me was Oliver I think or Oscar gave me great recommendations and service and I really enjoyed the tea the other work although was kind was on his phone a lot. ”

“ Very nice, prices are good too! Paid £7.70 for a large bubble tea + a large matcha pastry. Helpful staff when it comes to recommendations :) ”

“ Enjoyed their flaming whale bubble tea. It was really popular . It was my first time to try their flaming whale bubble tea. Taste was good. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Price wise the quantity was good. The portion is alright. People who love bubble tea must visit them. The shop is not big but it was clean . You can’t sit and enjoy your tea as there is no sitting place but still I love it. I highly recommend this. ”

“ Really yummy bubble tea! I either get the brown sugar milk tea or the flaming whale. Very fast and a cute stall in old Stratford shopping mall. They have a lot of drink options, milk options and offer other extras like grass jelly or coconut jelly. You can also adjust the sweetness. I’ve tried others and I always go back to this one! ”

“ I was sceptical about ordering from here as I've tried loads of other bubble tea places, some good some not so good, but a friend recommended it and I'm glad she did! I ordered the taro taro milk tea and it was excellent, it was smooth and creamy, the brown sugar pearls made it a little sweeter than I would have liked but they were the perfect texture so it was still a really good drink, My only problem is that the sizes of the drinks are set so you can't upgrade to a large. Service was a little 'meh' but it was a Friday evening so I can understand. I will be going back to try their fruit tea! ”

“ I normally try bubble tea from any place I find, though the experience is not always the best one! I went to the area for other reasons, but had to try one when I saw this small store. I ordered one, and I was pleasantly surprised. The taste of lotus biscoff tea is amazing. I loved the pearls, they were chewy and soft. Definitely will visit again to try other flavors. ”
